Rush Limbaugh

This post is not going to be funny. Those of you who read my blog for humor alone can kindly skip this post, and I won't mind. I just have to say this.

Rush Limbaugh claims to speak for America's interests. However, to say that you want America's President to fail is un-American and completely despicable.

Did I support Bush or his policies? No. But did I want them to fail just because I disagreed with them? Of course not. I wouldn't care who was in office or what their policies were as long as America was moving in a forward direction and that President's policies benefited the vast majority of Americans.

How can you wish for the failure of your nation's leader? How selfish is it to hope for him to fail just so you can laugh and say you told us so? Suck it up. Accept the fact that he is our president and either really behind him, or sit in quiet disagreement.

If I needed another reason to rally behind Obama and his policies, I now have it... So Rush Limbaugh can eat his words when this country rights itself and gains respect from the world community. Good luck fighting your losing battle, Rush. Your kind are a dying breed, doing nothing but dragging this country down. It's a shame we're a lot stronger and supportive of our government than you give us credit for.

You sir, are an asshole.

you knew i would have to say something here...

anyway to show your thousands, if not millions of readers what he meant was.. its this in his own words...

"My hope, and please understand me when I say this. I disagree fervently with the people on our side of the aisle who have caved and who say, 'Well, I hope he succeeds. We've got to give him a chance.' Why? They didn't give Bush a chance in 2000. Before he was inaugurated, the search-and-destroy mission had begun. I'm not talking about search-and-destroy, but I've been listening to Barack Obama for a year-and-a-half. I know what his politics are. I know what his plans are, as he has stated them. I don't want them to succeed

.
"If I wanted Obama to succeed, I'd be happy the Republicans have laid down. And I would be encouraging Republicans to lay down and support him. Look, what he's talking about is the absorption of as much of the private sector by the U.S. government as possible, from the banking business, to the mortgage industry, the automobile business, to health care. I do not want the government in charge of all of these things. I don't want this to work. So I'm thinking of replying to the guy, 'Okay, I'll send you a response, but I don't need 400 words, I need four: I hope he fails.' (interruption) What are you laughing at? See, here's the point. Everybody thinks it's outrageous to say. Look, even my staff, 'Oh, you can't do that.' Why not? Why is it any different, what's new, what is unfair about my saying I hope liberalism fails? Liberalism is our problem. Liberalism is what's gotten us dangerously close to the precipice here. Why do I want more of it? I don't care what the drive-by story is. I would be honored if the drive-by media headlined me all day long: 'Limbaugh: I Hope Obama Fails.' Somebody's gotta say it."

To add, I hope our country is better of in four years than it is now, because I need a job when I get out of school. So I hope Obama goes down as a successful president. But do I hope we have government intervention is all aspects of our society or economical class warfare in the tax system creating semi-socialism, hell no.

And oh by the way... the man who is now running our IRS, did not pay his taxes ($37,000) for four years... I guess thats "change we can believe in"

Ben, I said it wasn't going to be funny...

Oh and Geithner (the guy you're referring to at the end) did not skip out on all of his taxes, just taxes on payroll. He has since paid them off and said the the mistake was avoidable and unintentional.

I think people were naturally going to try to find fault with Bush following the botched election, since half of America felt like they had been cheated. I didn't saw it was fair, but it happened.

I tend to lean democratic in matters like economy and foreign policy, but that doesn't mean that if a republican was elected and their policies helped our nation towards progress, I wouldn't back them. Rush hasn't given Obama a chance because he thinks his policies are going to hurt America. As opposed to the policies he supports, which have dug us deep into the hole we are in now... It just seems like a very stubborn, close-minded way to handle the new presidency.

There was no "botched election". Liberals in this country hated conservatives such as Bush before he was even fairly elected President. Because of this "hate", they claimed his brother Jeb helped him "cheat" in Florida. Therefore, Al Gore demanded a recount on the votes in Florida. It went to the Supreme Court and they found no wrong-doing. But of course, liberals could make the case that Bush was sleeping with the entire Supreme Court and got their votes.

After the past eight years of our left-leaning media completely destroying and inhibiting Bush's character and ability to lead, finding faults in everything from his pretzel chewing ability to his "lying" about WMD's in Iraq, why does Obama deserve a fair shot from conservatives. Although Liberals like to, us conservatives don't have to get on our knees for Obama also.

The policies that Rush has "supported" are not the reasons we are in a mess. It's easy and comical to blame Bush for all our problems, however its been decades of greedy policy and actions by both parties and big business that have hurt our economy. It's sad that people buy into this crap that Bush was the problem when everyone was at fault, unfortunately everyone but Bush got away with it, its called corruption.
